[ chuckling ] yeah listen. it might make him happy and i guess it did. but it's not going to make him president. part of the way that he got rich was to make sure he paid as little taxes as possible. whether it was through bain capital and private equity or his own taxes. today he released his 2011 taxes. he tried everything he could which i'll explain in a just a little bit to pump these numbers as high as he could get them. you know what he wound up getting to? 14.1% to which i say whoopee-

whoopee-friggin'-do. that's much less than what the average american pays. here he is, oh man i'm running for president and i won't release my taxes and here is this one. and he gets it up to 14.1%. here is something interesting. let me quote romney's financial trustee. he said ronnel any's financial trustee. the romney's generous charitable donations in 2011 would have significantly reduced their tax paid of the year. to conform to the governor's statement in august based on the january estimate of income that he paid in 13 pest in income tax of the last three years. what does that mean? they weren't going to pay 14%.

he gave enough in charity that his rate would be 9%. oh i never paid less than 13%. what, we paid 9% this year? he did not take all the deductions he could for his charity giveel. >> romney: pay more than legally do. frankly, if i had paid more than are legally due, i don't think i would be qualified to become president. >> cenk: but you just did. so i guess you're disqualified. isn't that interesting? and his accountant assures us, don't worry, every year he paid something in the last 20 years. okay great. he said effective tax rate was above 13% for those years. there is one way you can show that by giving us the tax returns. if if it was above 13% then you have nothing to hide. but you won't show those tax

returns. this is an incompetent way to run a campaign especially for a guy who said i'm a ceo and i got this thing figured out. first of all he has bungled the taxes in 800 different ways. when you look at the finances of his campaign, it's a disaster. do you remember how he was supposed to have a huge financial advantage over president obama? well, that turns out fought to be the case. in august, he raised $736 million along with the rnc and pacs related to him. but president obama and his campaign actually outraised him through august, $774 million. so what happened, tough guy? what happened to the ceo? it looks like that ceo is kind of dicey. now look, what is cash on hand? his allies have the advantage there. over all they've got $175 million. and obama's side has $126 million. that seems like, hey, that's great. but look, it's important for the

campaign itself to have more money because they pay a lower rate for the ad because of the way the law is structured. when you look at the actual campaign, it turns out president obama has the advantage. it's $88.8 million for cash on hand for the campaign committee of president obama. and for romney it's $50.4 million. i see all this. okay he doesn't have as much money as which thought. he doesn't have as much money on hand as we thought. at least he should run more ads? wrong again. obama has run 40,000 television ads and romney has run 18,000 ads. wait a minute. what the hell is he doing with the money? and if he say hey get out the vote? no, president obama's team is significantly ahead in there.

mr. ceo, what did you do? you bungled it. you had all this money. apparently you grossly misspent it. he ran twice as much ads for you and my eyes were deceiving me. we kept showing one hard-hitting ad of obama doing damage to romney. and i guess he took the money and said, oh, what happened? right? >> stop it. >> cenk: she's back. now, it turns out it gets worse. right now apparently his campaign is $10 million in debt and he took out $20 million loan. why in the world with all that money is he taking out loans at this point? >> stop it. >> cenk: okay, and then on top of that he said, no, it's okay. we have paul ryan. god, the small donors are going to pour you in in, but the opposite

happened. he got $9.4 million and president obama got $20 million. and so paul ryan did not help at all. what happened, mr. ceo i thought your whole thing was i know money! i know finances! i know how to run a campaign! i know how to run a country--apparently not. it guess worse. they made out more than $200,000 in bonuses to some jean officials in the campaign right now bonuses? bonuses? we're talking about bonuses? do you know you're losing? you're getting your ass kicked. look at these swing states, colorado, president obama up by three. for christ sake, president obama is up in north carolina, and in ohio and virginia. says by 4 and 3, and i've seen polls he's up by 7 and 5 in those states. we're talking about bonuses?

choices that women should be able to make for themselves we'll take a pass. put pressure on congress to help some of these issues forward. >> cenk: so he's actually talking about an inside-outside game to bring change like healthcare reform. this is not new. president obama said this back in 2008 when he was running for president back then. >> obama: you have shown what history teaches us. in defining moments like this one the change we need does not come from washington but to washington. >> cenk: but now here is my dis disagreement with the president. look we sent president obama to washington to be that change. but so often on issues whether it was negotiating with the republicans on taxes on budget deals, on spending, you name it, he said, oh, these nothing we can do. we can give you 5% change, change it a little bit here, a little bit there but over all the republicans twisted my arm. i stint have 60 votes. i didn't have this or that, and

i can't bring you change from inside washington. my god, you are president of the united states of america. you have so much more power than you realize. you don't have to constantly give in to republicans. and the second part is, listen, when we push to the outside. when progressive groups push in the outside. when progressive commentators push from the outside, do you think the obama administration liked it? hell no, they hated it. rahm emmanuel went to a group of progressives who were pressuring the blue dog democrats and he called them f-ing retarded. i thought you wanted outside pressure. not if it doesn't help his cause politically. as much as the republicans are full of it, when they say president obama thinks it changed from inside washington, thisthis is a smidgen of proof.
